About the courses
The courses have been created to cater not just to medical and healthcare professionals but also to students and other professionals working in life sciences domains such as research, biotechnology, agriculture, etc. who are seeking to enhance their understanding of genomics and its practical applications in scientific and clinical settings.
We offer courses that delve into various subjects such as genomics, oncology, inherited diseases, infectious diseases, and molecular biology aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of the significance of analyzing an individual’s entire genetic makeup in diagnosing complex diseases.
Our courses are grouped into three categories. There are five (5) courses in our Essential Courses section covering the fundamentals of genomics, oncology, inherited and infectious diseases, and molecular biology. In addition, there are five (5) courses diving in deeper on the same topics in the Advanced Courses section. Finally, we are also offering five (5) Practitioner Programs to be a Genomics Academy Certified Practitioner!

The estimated time to finish the courses varies per category, whether it is an essential, advanced, or practitioner course. Time needed to complete a course ranges from 4 hours to 16 hours.
No, but it is not advised. The essential courses hold the pre-requisite knowledge to succesfully complete the advanced courses. If particular topics interest you, you can take only the essential course with the corresponding advanced course. For example: If you want to enroll in course 202, you start with 102.
You can access your Genomics Academy courses using a smartphone. If you experience any difficulties, you are advised to activate the “Desktop site” option in your web browser.
Registration and course participation
When you click to join a course on the course page, you will be asked to login to enroll. You will see a page like this:
After submitting the form you receive an e-mail to confirm your e-mail address. This email also holds the discount code enabling you to enroll our courses for free.
Registering gives you the benefits of keeping track of your progress in your courses and enables you to receive certificates of completion for each successfully concluded final quiz.
We only collect data necessary to support you following our courses, and we will not use these in any other way. For more information on what data we collect and how we use it, read our Privacy Policy.
If you do not have an account, register for one by clicking on “Login to enroll”. You will find this option on the first page of any course. After registering you will receive a confirmation email with the discount code you can use to enroll.
You can then join all courses offered by Genomics Academy.

The course progress will automatically save. As you go through the course and every time you log in, you will see a progress bar showing how far along you are in your learning journey. You can start from where you left off and navigate through all the lessons with ease.
There are no time constraints for course completion. You have the freedom to finish it at your preferred pace.
To earn the essential course Certificate of Completion, you must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the final exam. The advanced Certificate of Achievement is earned with a minimum score of 80% on the final quiz. If you do not reach this score on the first attempt, don’t worry! You can retake the final exams as many times you like, giving you the opportunity to review the course material and try again.
After completing the registration process, you may edit/update your information within the “My Account” page.

Certificates and discount coupons
Certificate of Completion, Certificate of Achievement or Genomics Academy Practitioner Certificate
Upon successfully finishing all the lessons, topics, and short quizzes of a starter course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, provided that you achieve at least a 70% score in the final quiz. Advanced Courses require a 80% pass score. Practitioner Certificates are rewarded upon a succesful pass of the final assignment.
This certificates can be downloaded and/or printed enabling you to attach it to your CV or online profiles such as LinkedIn.
No need to earn one… the courses are for free upon registrering on the site!
Upon passing the course final quiz, you will be provided with a Certificate of Completion (essential courses) or Achievement (advanced courses) that can be downloaded or printed.
To later retrieve your Certificate of Completion for a specific course, click on “My Account” then “My Courses” dashboard, click on the blue certificate symbol to open the certificate.
The certificates and discount coupons you have earned will also be listed under your courses on your Course Dashboard.
Purchasing your course certificate
No need to worry. At the moment they are available for free.

Reporting technical issues
In case you lose or forget your Genomics Academy password, you may click on “My Account” tab. In the Log In page, click on “Lost Password”.
You will receive a link to create a new password via e-mail after submitting your name or e-mail address.
